Olha que coisa mais linda mais cheia de graça e ela menina que vem e que passa, num doce balanço a caminho do mar…
Touching down in Rio is awesome. You almost feel the simmering of the city in your seat.
Despite poverty and misery, there is enough beach and ocean for everyone. No doubt his explains the positive vibe.
Every district of the city has its own character and is easily accessible by bike.
At first, orientation may seem a bit difficult but from the top of the Sugarloaf you have a perfect view over the town.
Fastfood has changed the bodysculptures of Copacabana and Ipanema, but the Carioca’s remain faithful to very small pieces of cloth.
Leblon is the place to be for wonderful restaurants. On every corner you can buy fresh coconut water.
Are you considering diner at Aprazivel …. i can assure you no taxi driver in Rio will find it.But it’s worth the search.
After the heat of the town, temperature drops in Iguazu (at least during summer). You should visit the waterfalls both from the Brasilian as from the Argentinian side. Incredible violence and savage beauty.
By chance, we get to know Hannibal, a great Argentinian guide, who would certainly have found a job in Hollywood. He’s the star among the guides and has a unique flair.
He knows his way around here, and shows us the best spots of this wonder of nature .We take a boatride under the’ Garganta del Diabolo’, narrowly along the ‘Bride’s vail’ and the ‘Two Sisters’! We walk over hanging bridges. It is a breathtaking sight.
The rising vapour of the falls creates multiple rainbows over the rainforest.
Time for the next wonder : The Pantanal !
The roadtrip from Cuiaba to ‘ the end of the world ‘ is quite tiring. Crocodile Dundee is our driver and he announced quietly at the end of the four hour drive that breakfast will be scheduled at 5 a.m. sharp.
Marvellous Arara lodge, with ara’s on the terrace, owls in the trees and thousands of caymans in the swamps as our roommates . Crocodile Dundee actually is Mike, AKA Aynore (or the other way around) , THE perfect guide to this special area. We travel by horses, through the swamps, knee-high in the water. You have to put up with snakes and crocodiles. The reward is an encounter with the giant ant-eater. The kitchen at the lodge is pure, simple and delicious.
What a peaceful stay under millions of stars, treehouses, monkeys, deer and fireflies…

The best way to explore the island is by buggy. Remote beaches are not accessible by other means of transportation.
Marvellous dives in kristal clear water!
We will never forget diner at Ana’s. She is a nice woman who invites a limited group of people at her place. Very talented cook. Diner is served under a starry night in her backyard.
The problem about this island is that it’s so tiny, you can see the plane coming in that will take you home again. Hate that feeling !
